Powerful new works by both Sasha Kleinplatz and Andrew Tay. Not to be missed.
On Power and Permission…
(choreographed by Andrew Tay)
How does society perceive Masculinity? How much does female gender identity depend on the comparison to it’s masculine counterpart?
Poetic, postmodern and visually striking, On Power and Permission takes the audience on a sensorial journey that questions society’s view of male and female gender roles. Through a series of intense images, the work confronts the viewer with intense visions of power, infatuation, domination and servitude. Comparing both male and female bodies in terms of physical strength, and as sexual objects, On Power and Permission presents many different perspectives on the issue of gender identity and allows audience members to walk away with their own conclusions.
All the ladies
(choreographed by Sasha Kleinplatz)
All the Ladies posits an all female space where women act out fantasies of rampant masculinity, and openly fetishize their body neuroses. The performers are an all-girl fight club loitering, restlessly stalking the stage, and wrestling their own bodies into submission.
