Now in it’s sixth edition, Wants&Needs Danse is proud to partner with the Festival Trans- Amériques to present the latest edition of Short&Sweet, an event which celebrates the diversity within the Montreal contemporary dance community.
This time around, we are offering to the public a kind of “best of” edition, featuring artists who have brought the house down in previous editions Short&Sweet, and mixing it up with some fresh new choreographers and special surprises.

The concept:
Short&Sweet gives 23 choreographers carte blanche to create whatever they want as long as it is under 3 minutes! A timekeeper is present for the event and any artist going over the allotted time frame has their music and lights immediately cut off.

Taking place at the Quartier Général of the FTA, this edition of Short&Sweet will add an exciting nightlife element to the Festival’s programming, and create an entertaining and un- intimidating way for the public to see a great variety of contemporary dance work in a party like atmosphere.

Community Building:

The Short&Sweet events have been praised for bringing Montreal’s contemporary dance community together, bridging the gaps of language, age and experience. The event has allowed choreographers the invaluable opportunity to see the different ideas that their peers are working on, as well as to discuss their craft with one another.

Come have a drink with us and celebrate Montreal’s diverse dance community!
