Now celebrating it's fifth anniversary, Piss in the Pool is a project whose purpose is to give emerging choreographers an opportunity to create and present site specific work. This exciting event moves experimental dance out of the conventional theatre space and throws it into the Bain St. Michel: an empty, indoor pool located in the heart of the Plateau Montreal.

Using their surroundings as inspiration, choreographers are given a week to adapt their unique visions to the unconventional space that is the Bain St. Michel. At the end of the week the works are presented in 2 evenings of dance open to the public during the month of June.

Piss in the Pool gives fresh, young choreographic voices a chance to be heard, and challenges the notion that contemporary dance is heavy and abstract by creating an atmosphere which is fun and unpretentious. Featuring swimsuit clad ushers, and whistle wielding M.C.'s the evening appeals to both seasoned dance fans and newcomers alike. This energetic event has become one of Montreal's summer dance highlights.

Choreographers who have participated in past Piss in the Pool's include Andrew Tay, Sasha Kleinplatz, Dana Michel, Namchi Bazaar, Andrew Turner, Catherine Leblanc, Katie Ward, Erin Flynn, Thea Pattterson, Jasmine Inns, Justin Gionet, Laurel Koop, Alison Ulan, Karen Fennel, Catherine Lipscome, Hannah Dorosio & Jody Hegel, Erin Flynn, Thea Patterson and Christiane Bourget.
